Soso [Sorcha Ní Cheallaigh] (they/them) is a derry/belfast-based writer, archivist, and multi-disciplinary artist interested in reality formation and body-space relationships.
Born in St. Helier on the island of Jersey, Soso grew up in the north of Ireland between Derry, Belfast and Donegal,
They are the recipient of ACNI Creative Individuals Recovery Award (2021-2022) for the expansion of their performance practice and the University of Atypical DDASF Award (2021-2022) for the development of a debut poetry pamphlet.
Soso currently writes essays, alongside fashion and culture features for The Fall magazine and Don't Die Wondering (DDW).
Soso studies poetry at the Seamus Heaney Centre in Queen's University Belfast. Occasionally publishing under the pseudonym 'Soso', their written and visual work can be seen across cultural magazines, literary magazines, and zine collectives.

Soso studied performance at Lyric Theatre Belfast's Drama Studio and the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain & Northern Ireland. As a theatremaker, they are interested in activist and community-based devised theatre and the art of protest. Soso has worked as an assistant facilitator for the National Youth Theatre since 2020.
